Position Overview:

Keshequa Central School is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic School Psychologist for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive environment and contributing to the overall academic and social-emotional success of our students. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school leaders to develop comprehensive plans and strategies that enhance students' academic performance and social-emotional well-being.   

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings. 

2. Provide individual and group counseling per IEP requirements. 

3. Facilitate some Student Support Team, 504, IEP, and problem-solving meetings. 

4. Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans. 

5. Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. 

6. Assist staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students. 

7. Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations for the improvement of services. 

8. Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social skills, coping skills, and problem-solving in the classroom. 

9. Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed. 

10. Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families. 

11. Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community. 

12. Participate in professional growth activities yearly 

13. Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data. 

14. Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education and Building Administrators, to meet the needs of students with special needs, in academics and interpersonal skills; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

  • Participates in SSTs and assists in developing Individual Educational Plans ("IEP") for students.

  • Assists students and teaching staff in implementing students' IEP's and behavior management plans.

  • Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs.

  • Serves as a ready resource to students and parents to provide support that will lead each student to increased personal growth; serves as liaison between home and school.

  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and to learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships. 

  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping. 

  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
