Media Arts and STEAM Integration Teacher

Position Overview:

Keshequa Central School is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Media Arts Teacher with a focus on integrating STEAM principles for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality instruction in media arts, fostering a positive environment, and contributing to the overall academic success of our students.

Responsibilities:

As a Media Arts Teacher with STEAM integration, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging and hands-on media arts lessons with a focus on digital media, multimedia production, and visual storytelling.

  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and artistic exploration among students.

  • Develop interdisciplinary lesson plans that blend media arts concepts with STEAM activities, ensuring alignment with New York State Art standards.

  • Deliver dynamic and interactive art lessons inspiring curiosity and creativity among students.

  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods accommodating diverse learning styles and abilities.

  • Provide guidance and support to students as they engage in hands-on art projects.

  • Identify and gather necessary materials, tools, and equipment required for media arts activities and STEAM integration.

  • Ensure proper and safe use of all art equipment, technology, and software during class activities.

  • Provide constructive feedback to students on their projects, problem-solving approaches, and overall performance.

  • Stay current with advancements in media arts education, digital technologies, and creative arts, infusing the latest trends and technologies into the curriculum.

  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves and take risks.

  • Enforce classroom rules and safety protocols to ensure a secure learning environment.

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in English Language Arts, fostering a positive environment and contributing to the overall academic success of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and rigorous English Language Arts lessons in alignment with the school's curriculum.

  • Foster a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking skills among students.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and create an inclusive learning environment.

  • Implement various assessment strategies to measure student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance instructional practices.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, English Education, or a related field.

  • New York State certification in English Language Arts 7-12

  • Strong knowledge of English Language Arts content and a passion for teaching.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.

Experience:

  • Previous teaching experience at the middle/high school level is preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with diverse teaching methodologies and technology integration.
